DecisionDesk’s 2016 Resolutions

First, and foremost, Happy New Year!

2015 was a big year. Not perfect by any stretch, and with plenty of growing pains.

An Unlikely Start and A Bold Position

For those of you who don’t know our history, DecisionDesk originally launched (under a different name) out of a dorm room in 2008 as an online portfolio tool.

By 2013, DecisionDesk had nearly 100 institutional partners using our video portfolio product. Exciting, to say the least, but we continuously heard complaints about awful legacy technology that campuses were using to manage their application and review processes, and we knew we could make a positive difference in this space. So we positioned ourselves to build the best end to end application, portfolio, and review product.

The growing pains

Everything changed in 2015. In an effort to support enterprise level implementations, we were tasked with re-architecting major portions of our product. We partnered with an increasingly complex distribution of customers. We’ve learned from these challenges and have orchestrated a clear customer success effort, including enhanced communication and project management process.

It’s time to focus

2016 starts with you, forward thinking universities who have partnered with DecisionDesk. My resolution for the company is to work closely, one on one, with all our customers. To begin, we’ve expanded our team by 30% (meet our new VP of Customer Success). We enter 2016 with a clearer strategy to power enrollment goals with data integrity and workflow improvements.

Over the next few months we’re shipping our student portal, application, review, and portfolio, all connected to an integration ‘hub’ for major SIS, Document Imaging, and CRM solutions. I am very excited to share this work with you and your team, and I hope you’ll continue to share with us your honest feedback.

Thank you for your patience and for pushing us to be better in 2015. Here’s to a very exciting 2016 ahead!
